FruitThick-walled, medium hot, reaching 3" long by 1 ¼" wide.. Start yellow and then change to orange or red. The Wenk's Yellow Hot is related to the Jalapeño, a popular pepper with a Scoville range of 2,500 to 8,000 SHU.

MaintenanceMay need to be staked, especially when they are full of fruit.
PropagationTo grow peppers successfully, plant the yellow, flat seeds at least six weeks before transplanting them outside. Protect them from cold temperatures and consider bringing them indoors during colder months. Use a mix of your own seedlings and store-bought plants to extend the harvest season.
Cultivar OriginHeirloom was developed by the late Eris Wenk, one of the last truck farmers in the Southern valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
