Cultivar Origin | The Pink Heartbreaker Redbud was discovered at Eaton Farms in 2002, where a weeping seedling was found within a field of upright redbuds. Don Eaton moved the seedling to his home, and despite a difficult start, one branch survived, which was used to begin propagation. Kathy Eaton named it "Pink Heartbreaker" because it had nearly died and broken their hearts. The ‘Pink Heartbreaker’ cultivar was discovered in Leesport, PA, in 2002. |
