Cultivar OriginNamed for plant explorer John Creech, a retired horticulturist from the U.S. National Arboretum. He discovered this plant on a plant-collecting trip to Siberia and obtained the original plant from the Central Siberian Botanic Garden in 1971. Named by Andre Viette, of Vinette Nursery who received plants to test for garden hardiness.
