MaintenanceThe only thing special that I do to this shrub is once or twice a year remove some of the taller stems that stand up, above the rest of the plant. In large beds that need lots of pruning I will use a power hedge shears to bring the plants down to size.

Author's NotesI like to use this plant in my designs because of the glossy leaves and the red fruit. During very cold winters with little snow cover, some winter damage can occur.
