Maintenance
As with most grasses you have the choice of cutting them to the ground in the fall or in the spring. I prefer the spring because of winter interest. When cutting back in the spring make sure you don't cut the new green growth at the base.

Author's Notes
I have had this plant for 6 growing seasons (2016) in my garden. The gold variegation is not as prominent as I would like it to be but still a nice hardy plant.
