| Plant Type | Perennials Hardy, Site author's observations |
| Hardiness Zone | 3-9 |
| Sunlight | full |
| Moisture | average |
| Soil & Site | average |
| Flowers | white Aster-like, small, produced in abundance, early September through October |
| Leaves | blue green leaves, heavy stalks, forms dense clumps |
| Stems | rhizomatous |
| Dimensions | 4-6 feet tall, 36-48" spread, can be spaced 36" on center |
| Maintenance | Fall clean up will require a good lopping shears to cut the thick stalks. It seems that the plant loses some vigor as the clumps get older. I just divide them every 3 years or so to rejuvenate the growth. |

| Native Site | The species is from Eastern United States. |
| Cultivar Origin | Introduction of the New England Wild Flower Society (USA) |
| Author's Notes | I try to use this plant when ever possible. It is a true landscape perennial producing a cloud of white blooms. I have one in a garden and as dusk approaches the plant seems to glow. If you want it as a specimen plant allow 5 feet to spread. |
