strobilus (pl. strobili)
A cone-like structure. In gymnosperms there are male and female strobili. The female usually being the woody cone. Strobilli are found as part of the reproductive process on many plants. Producing spores, pollen or seeds.
These are the immature strobilus of a Black Alder. This is where the female flowers are found and seeds formed.	The strobilus of a Horse Tail.
