Stinkhorn Fungus

A group of fungus that emit sweet to fetid odors which attract insects to carry away their spores. Frequently the spores are in a sticky substance.

This group of Stinkhorn grew every year in the wood chip mulch. This is probably Dog Stinkhorn (Mutinus canius)
