sphagnum peat
The dehydrated remains of plants in the Sphagnum genus, collected from floating plants in boggy sites. The body of the moss is made up of a large porportion of water holding cell and absorbs 20-30 times it's weight in water. Contains a specific fungistatic that prevents some fungus disease problems. It has an acid ph of around 3.5 ph. Used for air layering, seed germination and decoration. At one time it was used as a packing material
