| A member of the Kingdom Protista and subkingdom Myxomycetes. A creeping mass of clear plasmodium that flows over damp debris and eat microscopic organisms such as bacteria and fungal spores and hyphae. Many times found growing on wood mulches that are used in landscaping. Not a Fungus but many times associated with this Kingdom. Usually not noticed until they produce their colorful fruiting bodies. Has picked up the nick name "Dog Vomit Fungus". |
