Lycopodium is the genus name for a group
of plants that are in the plant division Lycophyta. A primitive group
vascular plants that have simple roots, stems and leaves. Most stay
under a foot tall but some tropical types reach five feet. There are
over 950 different species. Spores from this plant have been used
to produce a flash of light for early photographers and thrown (or
blown) through flames to create a burst of light. |
