Botany 101 start as the result of a final project in a web design class. At first it was just a place to alphabetize pictures that were of botanical subjects, not just individual plants as in the sites main data base "Plantstogrow.com". Slowly but surly I started to add pictures and than terms that were associated with the pictures and it took off.

There are three different types of links found within the glossary, each with it's own color.

  • Links to fact pages are in BLUE.
  • Links to other terms with in the database are in MAROON.
  • Links to other plants in the Plantstogrow.com data base.
    • The common named is linked to a picture illustrating the term
    • The scientific name is linked to the data page of the plant in Plantstogrow.com

adventitious roots
1. roots developing from unusual places, 2. roots developing from a rhizome, 3 Examples: Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera deliciosa)
The main area of the glossary consists mainly of short definitions. There are times when I like to expand on these in a fact page. In the fact pages I may expand on the definition and add some different images.
